Our Design Process

Our design philosophy:

We quickly gained a reputation for quality shoes using traditional construction techniques. Our fashion philosophy is to provide men with stylish, sophisticated and comfortable shoes for the ever-changing landscape around us. With over 60 years of experience under our belt we are constantly evolving, as well as staying true to our heritage, this has put us at the forefront of men’s shoes trends. By utilising the skills of our artisans across multiple continents we are able to offer our customers a product they can be proud to own.

Everything we do as a brand has to meet our stringent guidelines, because we're not just designing shoes but a lifestyle. We want you to be comfortable transitioning between our different shoes styles to suit any occasion you may have. This attitude has helped foster our brands growth; enabling us to continue to grow with our customers.

The process

When going forward with a new collection we look to the past for inspiration.

Once a theme is established, a colour palette is then formed that accurately represents the chosen time and upcoming season. Our selected colour palette potential is then realised by sourcing the finest leathers from Italy. Our fashion rich heritage allows us to rely on our longstanding relationships with the world's best tanneries. These leathers are then worked into the colour palette.

Our forthcoming collection then enters a development phase in which sample shoes are constructed on multiple lasts and the one with the best fit and comfort is then thoroughly tested to ensure the utmost quality. Testing is an important part of the process, not only to ensure excellence but it helps improve the shoes structure. Once we're certain the shoes live up to the Batsanis standard, we then commence production of our collection.

Our collections express the spirit of our classic staples which get a new lease of life with our hand finished leathers. This season sees us using premium materials such as calf leather, buffalo leather and pastel coloured nubuck which has always been revered throughout time; combining custom colour palettes that encourage unique self-expression with the world's best European textiles. We take inspiration from classic era's to create modern-day fashion to elevate your style. Rest assured your shoes will always be in fashion.

To measure your feet stand on a level floor with the back of your heels against a straight edge or wall.

Measure your foot length by placing a ruler flat on the floor straight alongside the inside of your foot from your heel to your toes. Place an object with a flat edge straight across your toes with the edge touching the tip of your longest toe. Take the measurement (in centimeters) from the ruler where the flat edge crosses. This is your foot length measurement.

If your foot measurement is halfway between sizes, select the larger size. You may find one foot is longer than the other, this is quite normal, please use the larger size when making your shoe size selection.
